TSP Responsibilities (What I Do)
As your Technical Service Provider (TSP), my role is to provide the certified technical expertise required for NRCS conservation programs. I keep your information confidential, maintain all required certifications, and communicate clearly with both you and NRCS throughout the process. You hire me directly, and I work under a private contract with you—not NRCS.
Participant Responsibilities (What You Do)
As the landowner or producer, you are the contract holder with NRCS and the final decision‑maker for all work on your property. You hire and pay the TSP, verify that the TSP is certified for the practices needed, and sign your NRCS contract before any work begins. You are responsible for obtaining any required permits, rights, or easements, and for ensuring the completed work meets NRCS standards. You must notify NRCS that you plan to use a TSP and sign a Release of Information (ROI) form so NRCS can share your conservation documents with me. You coordinate tasks between NRCS, contractors, and the TSP, and you are ultimately accountable for your conservation plan.
